2019 has been an extremely positive year for the business for both rental and manufacturing of client-commission builds. Brimmond has mobilised an outstanding number of rental assets throughout the year and with our engineering and manufacturing division securing a seven-figure contract win during Q3 the last quarter has shown no sign of slowing down. The new contracts have seen Brimmond Group expand its global reach with equipment going to projects in the Middle East, West Africa, Norway, France, Canada, Russia and Netherlands.
Who we are
Established in 1996, Brimmond Group and Rigrun Europe have over 20 years’ experience servicing the Oil and Gas market.
Brimmond Group are renowned for the manufacture and rental of equipment specifically designed for offshore environments, with key equipment supply including: Hydraulic Power Units, Umbilical Reelers, Marine Cranes and associated equipment. From concept to design and manufacture, we develop equipment which is safer and focuses on ease of maintenance.
Rigrun Europe is recognised as a leader in the manufacture, maintenance and refurbishment of motion compensation equipment for the offshore drilling market. Our expertise lies predominantly in Guideline Tensioners, Marine Riser Tensioners and Drill String Compensators.
Tom Murdoch, Engineering Director, said: "In 2019 Brimmond has made a concentrated effort to increase our engineering capacity. The recent additions to the team has enabled us to design, engineer and manufacture new rental assets whilst also delivering a variety of purpose built equipment designed to meet and exceed our clients specification.”
Brimmond Group has invested a seven-figure sum to expand its rental fleet and has added several new products to its offshore rental fleet including ATEX Zone 2 57kW, 107kW and 200kW Diesel Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs), flushing and filtration equipment, 45kW Zone 1 Electric HPUs, winches and lifting accessories. The investment also included adding another new high capacity marine knuckle boom crane, an Effer 175,000-6S, which is due for delivery early 2020.
Brimmond has designed and manufactured two Intervention Workover Control System (IWOCS) Umbilical Reelers. Both units are entirely pneumatically powered, with an automatic level wind system with manual override and are housed within certified DNV 2.7-3, Type A, Class R60 lifting frames. These units have been designed with the end user in mind, the inherently safe design includes features such as a fail-safe pneumatic brake, door cut-off switches and two control options allowing for local or remote operations.
